As a disabled person, I know of people that are alive and able to live outside their homes because of their animals. I believe that whether it be a service animal or comfort, that a proper registry and license should be required. I have prople I know that are disabled and abuse the comfort animal privilege by referring to it as a service animal. This is just as wrong as a non disabled individual doing the same thing because they want to bring in their dog or pet.
Most service animals wear vests that state they are service animals and working. This is very important for the owner and strangers. Since it is working, one should never pet a service animal without permission. It can distract them and cause it to not do it’s job, properly. If it is a comfort animal, then that animal should never wear a service animal vest.
