With modern tech it seems a digital barcode or something could be us3d and autoscanned when a person enters wherever. It then become up to yhe owner of the business to decide if purchasing the equipment needed to auto read the chip or bar code is worth it. Of the business owner decides not top then they accept yhe oyher outward id as valod and dont intrude.
