The risks of taking/not taking vaccines are pretty well understood with millions of people in both groups being studied for decades.
It’s why there’s a meningitis vaccine that isn’t used for everyone because the number of negative side effects are roughly equal to the chance of getting meningitis and dying/having permanent brain damage. It’s only recommended for high risk groups.
