It’s not just an excuse. I really am that busy. I might make it to 1-2 movies per year, and no, I don’t watch any other games. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I haven’t even been able to watch all of BYU’s games the last few years.

20 years ago i never could have imagined that I could have gotten to this point, but life has changed. I have seven kids whose games, practices, recitals, etc. all take precedence over my fandom. I have a business to run and I’m serving as bishop. I’m still a Cougar Club member and season ticket holder, but sometimes I give those tickets away or they go unused.

In about a decade, most of my kids will be out of the house and I’ll have more disposable time, but for the time being, I’m happy just to make it to a game. Tailgating just isn’t in the mix for me for now, and I don’t think that makes me a bad fan.
