Who have no clue as what faculty research positions are like. As I said in an earlier post, most of these clueless people went to graduate school and they think have our jobs all figured out based on what they saw as a grad student. What they don’t know is that they usually saw 20% of my workload and tasks. They usually have no idea about our research and scholarship expectations.
Even those students who competed a thesis or dissertation think “This research project was not too difficult” when it was the only academic task they had to work on for 4-6 months.
As research faculty, we are completing 5-6 of those “high-level research projects/journal manuscripts” every year on top of our teaching load, mentoring/chairing load and our require university service.
Oh well. People going to keep hating....and thinking they know all about our “business”. Ha Ha.
