Yeah refs believed it was a cross check to the face that caused the injury.
So high sticking double minor would have been the call.
Unfortunately you can’t see replay for penalty but they treated it like a spearing where there was intent to injure. I don’t believe there was intent but I believe it warranted a penalty based.
In real time that was a scary looking play.
