And it happens all the time, when a player is down the refs are making sure he is taken care of first before they assess a penalty. They had to bring a doctor out on the ice, the refs wanted to make sure that he was going to be ok first before they huddled up to assess the extent of the injuries, what they saw and decide the best course of action. They told Vegas that they saw a crosscheck to the face, that crosscheck lead to a player injury and he is gone from the game. Sucks that it happened but that was an amazing comeback for San Jose, an equally impressive goal to tie it up and force overtime, and both teams had chances to end it in the sudden death.

Sorry your team lost man, I really am, I was hoping to see Vegas move on. My team lost in heart breaking fashion, we had some really bad blown calls that lead to momentum changes and late goals, but I didnt get on CB and whine and moan and complain. In fact even when a guy called me out to gloat about the Avs beating my Flames my response was congratulations and best of luck in the next round.

As a diehard hockey fan who has had years of "maybe next years" its just part of the game to have these things happen. Vegas has been around for two seasons and has never experienced a losing season, or missing the playoffs even once. If the worst that can be said is they took the Sharks to 7 games in round 1 and lost in OT then thats a pretty amazing track record.
