Beating FCS teams means nothing. We all agree on that. So we don't want to play them.

The line for us is above the MWC. We have been there. It gave us nothing. It gave us many 8+ win seasons, many seasons of winning the conference, and absolutely no recognition. It gave us seasons where we debated at the end and thought we deserved better. It left us with questions. We wanted a chance to play the big boys, but were mostly denied. We have been there.

And actually, that same MWC is worse, much worse than we left it. Maybe the AAC is similar to what the MWC used to be, I don't think so, but maybe. The MWC used to have discussions that it could potentially be included as a BCS conference in the next shake up. AAC isn't close to that. UCF has had a nice two season run, but that's mostly it.

Several systems ago and back in the WAC, we won a Natty under this "rack of wins against bad teams era". I think we deserved it. But the system changed for that never to happen again, so it doesn't matter.

Going back to one of these loser conferences is so we can pretend we are good. Nothing will have changed. But we'll win a lot more games because our competition will suck. Why bother? Who cares? It means nothing.
