than it is today. I don't subscribe to that notion. In the last 10 years, the college football landscape changed tremendously, both nationally and within the state of Utah. Those are the biggest changes.
According to your logic, the 2017 BYU football team would've made you happy in the crappy MWC. We had 4 wins. The team was absolutely awful. But you would've liked to pretend that we were good by winning a ton of games in the MWC. After all, we went 3-3 against the MWC, and those 3 losses were against their best teams. We could've potentially racked up more wins by playing Air Force and Wyoming and Nevada instead of MSU and Wisconsin and LSU.
Or, maybe we would've lost games. And going 4-9 against the MWC would really bring you irrelevance. True irrelevance.
