because his batting average would be higher. That's the logic being employed at least. I'm not saying BYU's history sucked. I am saying it sucked to have years like 1996, even as awesome as it was, and no chance to prove how good the team was. The world has evolved to the point where G5 is less likely to produce at year like 1996. A one loss BYU in a G-5 conference doesn't come near a #5 ranking in the 21st century.
