I LOVE BYU sports, and want those athletes all in. But if I'm honest with myself, except for one or two of them who have pro prospects ... sports really isn't as important as their families and preparing for their careers. It's tough now because to be competitive, you have to dedicate everything to the sport, and sometimes academics/job preparation takes a back seat. And if you're a young guy, getting married, thinking of supporting a wife, and realizing you're not going to play pro beyond a year or two internationally ... honestly the wiser decision is to make sure you're getting ready for your career.
Stinks for us as fans, but I totally get it.
So I can see how getting married would diminish the drive for a lot of players.
