That way, the student at least got something valuable out of the lesson instead of simply wasting both people's time and she didn't have to feel like the big, bad, mean teacher whose entire lesson seemed like "since you didn't practice enough, we're going to repeat what we studied last week to make you feel bad for not practicing!!"
