If I allowed my kids to quit every time they say they don't want to go to practice...
...they'd never be involved with anything. Part of parenting is teaching your child to do hard things in order to reach goals. It's also teaching accountability rather than escaping any negative consequences.

It's obviously a balance - there's a fine line between what I described, and torturing your kid by forcing them to continue to do things they absolutely dread. But that doesn't seem to be what Iman's son is experiencing here.
