Just finished reading it. It's actually a pretty interesting read. Adds a lot of
color to the debate and why there is one.
I agree with all of your points. They do mention that Washington was invited to play BYU in the Holiday Bowl (although no formal invitation was extended because UW didn't show any interest).
But even so, the article was pretty good. Didn't realize how close the AP voting ended up being.
