Oklahoma also said they were better, but when offered a pre-season bowl

game against BYU to start the 1985 season, Oklahoma turned it down. Baylor played both BYU and OU and the Baylor coach said he felt like they were in the game until late in the fourth quarter. He said that by halftime against BYU they just wanted the game to be over. He said there was no question that BYU was better.
