Everyone only played the games they played. Washington even has the invite and chance to beat us on the field.
Then, in *reality, we smashed them the very next game we played. If they had killed us in ‘85 it would be more believable that they were such a superior program at the time that we might assume they would have inevitably won the year before. But even then it’s theoretical. The proof is in the pudding and they chose not to play us. Then they did and got killed.
They have no one to blame but themselves.

They were invited to play us in a bowl game to settle it on the field. Had they accepted there would be no question
