Little do they remember they did not win their conference and got stomped the
following year. For that they use the attrition argument. I argue, both have attrition but that is the closest you can get to judge who would have won without actually having played in ‘84. Then they’ll argue about them stopping BYU in ‘86...sorry UW, 2 years after the year in question (‘84) is a bit of a stretch compared to 1 season after on the first game.
