As a fanbase I think we need to accept this.
BYU Admin and their flunkies appear to only care about athletics in as much as it provides a positive image for the school and doesn't force them to spend money on it. So long as Football and Men's basketball can pay for themselves and subsidize to an extent the other programs at BYU then the Admin is going to be happy. When the Athletic Director answers to some VP at BYU who may or may not have had any experience running a D1 sports program....well, that's all you need to know.
Real question: If Tom Holmoe left because he had finally had his fill of BYU Admin's lack of support would any other truly legit AD want to come to BYU after that? Talk about a job with all kinds of problems at a pay level that is NOT competitive with his peers.
