Tyson was MUCH faster than Liston. He was quite a bit smaller with much shorter
arms, too. His fighting style was actually in some key respects closer to Ali than it was to Liston (particularly the head movement as the foundational defensive principle--both were masters).

Tyson & Ali in their respective primes would've been a GREAT fight. A decision would've decidedly gone to Ali, but I think Tyson would've been much more likely to knock Ali out than vice-a-versa.

Ali was very, very special — but Tyson was probably the best pure athlete to EVER fight as a heavyweight. And his training was superb. Ali was well-trained, but much of his skill was of his own genius.
