As a millenial I hate this attitude.
We have it so much better but the traditional pathways are no longer the answer to success. Going to college is no longer a guaranteed positive roi and career maker but many other avenues are.

Oil and gas jobs are just as accessible to a high school grad as ever and probably more lucrative now. Online learning resources are abundant and anyone who wants can teach themselves any number of highly sought after tech skills that pay tremendous salaries (no not just coding). Online businesses are simple and easy to establish no longer requiring large loans and long leases.

You cant get a marketing degree anymore and be set for life with a steady job for the next 40 years. My generation just needs to realize that.

Home values are insane and no longer as available but access to the stock market and information on how to invest is a few taps away. A teenager can start investing and earning significant annual yields very early on but most importantly they can figure it out on their own.

One thing that is in short supply is discipline. Millenials work plenty hard enough but lack the discipline to properly plan and prepare for the future. Many lack the discipline to think outside the box and commit to investments, jobs, savings and other people. We have fully supported the "keep up" culture that encourages buying a new car every 3 years and 2000 more square feet than we can afford or need. Thats the real issue.
