Would the Jazz ownership be willing to pay it for multiple years to give a team a run at the title? They have said publicly that they would be willing to do it, and they did dip into the tax about a decade ago when it wasn't as punitive. But they also salary dumped Eric Maynor and didn't match on Wesley Mathews to avoid a higher luxury tax bill.
If they're unwilling to spend it already puts a limit on their ceiling. I personally don't see a path where Gobert/Mitchell are good enough to lead a title team without a third legitimate star and they are going to need to spend to get that player.
