This is the exact attitude that is the problem

Traditions... just because you did it that way, everyone has to do it exactly that way. Is it impossible for any other way to exist where one could be prepared to be a safe, competent medical provider? Did I say additonal school and a residency wouldn't still be required? Of course one would still have to be able to pass boards and maintain privileges/certifications.
