But it’s such an adversarial profession. EVERYONE can be out to get you (nurses, admin, patients, families, colleagues, partners). You have to make everyone happy and you really can’t have a hiccup or make a mistake or say one thing that could be interpreted negatively without risking everything.
I’m in a high risk procedure/surgical type specialty so that adds to it.
Three cases that go wrong even if I do everything right and I’m a goner.. than good luck getting another job.
Or be short with a nurse calling something dumb at 4 am after you just did a three hour life saving procedure at midnight after you’ve been on call for 72 hours straight with no more than 4 hours if continuous sleep and that could be enough to run some people out of town..

You’re guilty until proven innocent and you’re interacting with all walks of life .. it’s just a ticking time time bomb
Than there is the genuine concern that you want the best outcomes and do what is right for patients.
To me it’s just not worth it after a few years.. problem is it’s still worth it to me wife 🙂 so it’s hard to get out.
