There's really not any evidence to suggest the second half of your argument.
It's true that a minor league NFL wouldn't be a huge money maker, but that's never been the point of minor leagues.
But it's really just speculation that the value of college football would remain as high if it lost it's best players. If anything, the issues facing college basketball indicate the opposite.
