Yeah, BYU football is not the gospel.
But honestly, I dont care for pro sports, and I only care for BYU sports.
1- I went there. I have something in common with (most)the players that play there. The BYU campus and mission of the school is whimsical and amazing, now living in B12 country where we have several "Hardcore Christian" universities. . . I was surprised to go to a party at TCU where the RAs were basically handing out ectasy to the freshmen and sophomore teenager students. Now I live next to Oral Roberts University, again the feel is VERY different.
2- Pro sports. . . Outside of occasional pro athletes who become part of the community and environment (The Donovan Mitchell type players) For the most part the celebrities have no real connections to the area, and no real connection with me. I don't blame them as pro athletes they could be traded or move for better salary at the drop of the hat. But rarely do I actually feel like the local pro sports team has anything more then the stadium arena is closer to me than any other stadium or arena.
3- Cheer for another College, similar to pro sports, they happen to be located closer to me. . . I just don't feel teh same.
