Back in late March (I may have posted about this already) I paid a visit to my Dr and when they took my weight I came in at a whopping, and I mean it, 291 lbs. I am 6 foot 1 so yeah, obesity was my partner. My Doctor told me that I needed to make some serious changes as I was toeing the line of pre-diabetes. This was the wake-up call that I needed but waited almost too long before I heard it.
I changed my diet by almost completely cut out sugared beverages, eating 5-6 small meals per day, walking 30-45 minutes each morning, with hiking on the weekend, and with the aid of a low dosage weight loss pill from my Dr. that he prescribed for only 6 weeks to kick start me, I am happy to say that I just weighed myself and I am at 254.6 lbs as of this morning. My personal goal is to get down to around 200 lbs.
Now, 36 lbs over 5 months may not seem like much, but my doctor did not want me to do a crash diet but wanted me to focus on losing about 1 - 1.5 lbs per week as this would greatly increase my chances of keeping the weight off. I am currently averaging about 1.7 lbs per week of weight loss.
This has not been easy, the first two months were really bad as my cravings were out of control, depression did set in coupled with anxiety at times. My dependence on caffeine was far worse than I initially thought etc. etc. etc. Now, I still eat desserts from time to time and I now drink a diet soda every so often when I need a "fix". But overall, I am happy the direction I am heading and cant wait to see what I can get down to by January 1st of 2021.
I will post a picture of before and after when I feel more confident about how I look in pictures with the new me. Till then wish me luck CB, and know that 2020 has not been all that bad.
