iirc, one of the main parties was on provo center st, closer to byu campus and
the byu photojournalist said that people started talking about how the parties shouldn’t happen, but that there are also a lot of people saying people should be able to do whatever they want. It sounded like this was the talk he heard around campus but I could totally be mis-remembering that. But it may not be coincidence that the cases of covid at BYU nearly doubled in just two days, from 40 to 79. According to the news anyway.

Anecdotally, the friend my niece-in-law brought with her to our weekly sunday dinner got a talking to by everyone last night. She admitted that she and he roommates were at one of the parties, and they had their masks, but when they got there and saw that most everyone else was not wearing theirs, they took the masks off. She said she and her roommates are at byu.

But yeah, obviously not all the kids would have been from byu. And not anywhere close to the majority of all byu students are going to parties. If you've been on campus lately you'll know that most of the students there are kind of nerdy, in a good way I suppose, if you're looking at it from a certain point of view. Most aren't "partiers" anyway.

I wouldn't say the parties are "filled with BYU students?" But if it is 3/7 BYU students, then I'd say the parties are filled with a lot of byu students.
