Delicate Genius A man without hand is not a ma
I agree there is a likelihood that more UVU students attend Provo parties than
BYU students. No argument there.

As for the second subject, I think we are going to fundamentally disagree on this regardless of what the other says, which is okay. I understand your frustration with the difficulty your daughter had in finding suitable housing south of campus. I don't feel the housing and social scene "belongs" to BYU students simply due to its proximity to BYU campus; certainly no one can blame UVU students for doing what is in their best interest, just as BYU students are by wanting to stay in the social hot spot south of campus. Unfortunately, BYU has put its own students in a terrible bind with their stupid 2 mile radius policy. I get the intent, but it screwed their own students over by allowing renters to raise rent while having to provide less upkeep given the decreased competition. It also increased the housing competition for BYU students and created terrible parking and traffic issues. At the time BYU created the rule, it justified it by saying 95% of its students already lived within 2 miles of campus; why did it feel the need to corral the remaining 5% just to foster a better non-commuter atmosphere? Anyway, I think you can read my feelings on the issue, as I can yours.

The bottom line for me: IMO, the 2 mile radius rule is dumb and screws over BYU students. Just because the housing is close in proximity to BYU does not mean it and the accompanying social scene "belong" to BYU students, thus I don't feel UVU students are necessarily to blame, though I definitely get your frustration. It is certainly a crappy situation.

Hope you have a good night. I'm headed to bed now.
