UVU has many thousands of students who live in Provo in BYU approved housing. A generation ago their parents were BYU students. That’s not an option for everyone now.

A fraction of the UVU student body lives in Provo while the vast majority of BYU students do live there.

A big fraction. I recently served in a Provo singles ward and about 60% were UVU students. The ward was about 2 blocks
