mostly because we rarely let them do anything with screens.
Now that they're in school, they get their own chrome books (Gasp!) and they're suddenly on them all day. That's one way to introduce kids to the responsibility of screens.
My 9 year old just asked me yesterday what facebook was. That led to an interesting short chat about what it does, claims to be and how the company basically mines your data to sell you things. not a facebook fan. at all but it does have it's uses, especially community groups during COVID and marketplace.
