If BYU had played their original 2020 schedule, they would have already played 3 road games against P5 teams. They would have already gone head-to-head with Utah, Michigan State, ASU, and Minnesota. I think they would have been lucky to get through that stretch with a 2-2 record. People on this board would be saying things like "Same old BYU" and no one would be talking about how great this year's BYU team is.
Instead, BYU absolutely shellacked a Navy team that hadn't even hit that year and a school from the Sunbelt Conference (the SUNBELT CONFERENCE!!!) Some people here seem to think that's evidence of greatness, in spite of the fact that we see performances at that level almost every year (even 7-6 BYU in 2018 blew out New Mexico St and Western Michigan). BYU might be good, but there's no way to know that right now, based on this body of work.
