Maybe the problem is the schedule make up. BYU needs the benefit of a couple warm up games like most P5 teams get to
build confidence rather get beat up & get too many injuries. Sure we have some now but our roster is obsorbing them and getting replacements acclimated against easier competition.
I think the attention this year is due to fewer big teams playing those first couple weeks and we dominated. Not just beat, but dominated a team that finished ranked last year. I'm not buying the Navy "no hitting" excuse. BYU practiced very little with live hitting too. Navy should not have been that dominated no matter what. that excuse is a smart coach trying to salvage his team's confidence to turn the season around.
