The SEC is playing chess when it comes to scheduling while other conferences are playing Checkers.
Not only that but they've kept all their in-state rivalries (i.e-Florida/Florida St) intact. Also, SEC figured out long ago you can survive an early season loss but tougher to do so when it's late in season. That's why you see lots of November cupcakes on SEC schedules.
