It's disingenuous of UW to call out BYU and say that BYU didn't want to play and/or was backpedaling when the reality is that UW/PAC12 have set terms and conditions that make the game impossible.

I suppose you could say a guarantee means Washington would have to pay something if they cancelled. But that's the whole point. BYU doesn't want Washington to pay anything. They want Washington and the PAC12 to guarantee that the game won't be cancelled. They want to play! I could say that it's Washington and the PAC12 are the ones who don't want to play - looking for outs.

They aren't willing to agree to play and have the game take priority - and that's on them. As I've said all along - I don't blame them for wanting to take care of the PAC12. I just think they're crazy to believe that BYU should help them take care of the PAC12. That would be dumb on BYU's part. Most contracts have benefit to both parties. This particular proposed contract seems to be substantially unbalanced to Washington and the PAC12.
