I was rejected in my first major of choice at BYU
and felt the same as you: I really just like sports. I ended up pursuing Spanish teaching because I learned Spanish on my mission and i liked to help people.

I did that with a coaching minor and loved it! Teaching and coaching kids was a great experience. And it wasn't because I am a Spanish fanatic, it was the chance I had to teach the kid Spanish but also teach them about life. And the coaching part was amazing! It was longer hours that wasn't always fun but the way I could connect with the kids really fueled me and I feel like really helped them as well.

I have since moved up to school administration and love that as well. 15 years ago I didn't really love school, just did it because I had to, and I would've thought you were crazy if you would have told me that I would go on to teach and coach in high school and then become a school administrator, but I love what I do, and I love what the career has done for my family.

I would seriously consider giving teaching a go. There are tons of alternative certification paths you can take to get into the field that can help you be successful.
