We just left. Im not paying that kind of money to live in a smog covered sardine can. A friend of mine sold his house and moved to flagstaff. He always wanted to live in a ski town. Done. Also picked up an extra 150k in equity. Several others that didnt ever buy just up and left for higher paying jobs in cheaper markets. One is on 10 acres outside Nashville. Home is a brand new build. His home budget was 350k.
Utah is currently benefitting greatly from the nationwide boom. As prices continue coming down in other markets Utah will continue to look less and less desirable. Especially since it is losing a huge chunk of its young workforce already. I dont expect values to fall off a cliff but they wont keep going up for much longer.
