Much of the frustration on a place like CB means nothing. We moan, groan, offer opinions rooted in nothing and that's it.
Most of us know next to nothing about football and coaching at that level. Very true.
Keeping the fans happy, keeping them feel valued and part of the whole program is a great way to keep things rolling even when your record is bad. Kalani does this better than just about anyone....love the way that he makes fans feel like their concerns are understood, he even addresses things that are probably rooted in nonsense, but gets on his radar because he actually listens. That keeps boosters writing checks and fans like me chipping in the little bit I can to see the program and athletes succeed.
The synergy between a engaged, appreciated fan-base and a fan-base the feels like the coach thinks they are an annoying necessity is big. I think that's part of what is making the BYU athletics experience so great right now. Coaches like Sitake, Rockwood, Olmstead, Pope and Taylor are making it a lot of fun to be a BYU fan. Maybe they think we are morons, but it doesn't show.
