The Big 12 made a huge mistake passing up an ideal, P5 ready BYU. They got it right this time and it was a steal. But
I don't think BYU's success hurts the Pac-12. Maybe in a slight opportunity costs. But not with Utah.

Attacking Utah, or pretending that the Pac isn't thrilled with how well Utah is performing is silly.

From attendance, tv viewership, W/L's, OOC win %, rankings and NFL pipeline, Utah's been exceptional.

Looking at how well Utah has finished in the rankings and how well respected they have been in the preseason rankings, it's clear, Utah doesn't have a brand issue.

CFB Reddit did a poll recently on people's favorite teams from each P5 conference. Utah was hands-down the favorite. Maybe that's recency bias with a thrilling Rose Bowl game...but it's not too hard to respect what Utah has done. I don't see any other newcome or mid-tier school doing anything near what Utah has over the last 5-6 years.

I don't know about CU. At the time, the Denver market, the steal from the Big 12, it was a great move. In hindsight, BYU would've been a better choice, IMO.

But I think now, BYU fans will enjoy the Big 12 that much more. Having been unfairly left out. I think the Big 12 is wide open for a few schools to come in and establish dominance.
