A girl I liked in HS was upset because someone told her she was fat
The guy who said it was the same dude I was competing with for this girl's attention, so this was my big chance to score some major points with her.
What I meant to say was "Are you upset because he said it or are you upset because you think it's true?" What actually came out of my mouth was: "Are you upset because he said it or are you upset because it's true?"
Needless to say, I scored zero points and was lucky just to make it back in the friend zone with her.
