Plenty of dumb things said, mostly unintentional offensive, or thoughtless.
In HS I saw a kid and said, "you look just like "Fred" (fake name for a kid I had only met once a year before and didn't really know). He just glared at me and stormed off. I then realized that it was indeed Fred, but he looked different because he had gained like 40 to 60 pounds in a year. He thought I was trying to be a smart Alec, but I really didn't know at first. He really did not like me after that, and there was not much I could say. Sorry, I didn't now it was you because . . .
