He would say, “kids, look! It’s your grandma!” referring to his MIL. We all thought it was hilarious. My 8 year old self thought that, of course, Grandma would love it, too! The next time they came to visit, before the even made it through the front door I informed my grandma of the oh so funny joke. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my dad so embarrassed. My grandma never let him live it down. 30 years later I still feel bad for ratting him out.
