This is correct. The scheme is philosophically disadvantageous. QBs that literally can't throw have career days running
The ball. LBs lining up 10 yds off the LOS and backpedaling into empty zones is weak. D line set up 2+yds off the LOS leads to big running plays.
Maybe improving depth will lead to mixing in more aggression.

BYU's defense was on the field for 880 plays, their offense for 868. That's a difference of 0.92 plays per game.

We had one of the top offenses in the country and still were at a deficit. The defense is the reason.

BYU led the nation in total offense in 1984 and only ran 2.5 plays per game more than their opponents
