Uh ... you realize that we ranked 83rd in the nation in opponent drives that resulted in a TD right?
We also ranked 130th for percentage of opponent offensive drives that gain zero or negative yards and 115th in percentage of opponent offensive drives that earn at least one first down.
I could go on if you want more. Our defense was awful last year, and you can't blame it all on injuries. If you do that, you also have to ask why we had such a lack of depth when our defensive staff has been together for 6 yrs and the worst position group is our DL.

BYU's defense was on the field for 880 plays, their offense for 868. That's a difference of 0.92 plays per game.

We had one of the top offenses in the country and still were at a deficit. The defense is the reason.

BYU led the nation in total offense in 1984 and only ran 2.5 plays per game more than their opponents
