Week 10 - #1 BYU (9-0) @ #17 Boise State (7-1)

After a season opening loss to Oregon State, the Broncos have been on fire. Hank Bachmeier is starting to garner NFL talk, not just at QB, but also due to his role on defense. With the BYU Boise "rivalry" coming to a close in 2022, the Broncos hope to send BYU off with a second consecutive season-ruining loss. Big Game Boomer lists this as one of his 'Upset Guarantee' for week 10.

Both teams clearly come out with some jitters before Boise finally gets 3 points on the board in their 3rd possession. BYU answers with a field goal of their own. On the ensuing possession, Pili strips Hank, and BYU finally breaks the game open with a Katoa touchdown run. BYU would add another FG and take a 13-3 lead into halftime. All is well, BYU seems to be in control. During halftime, however, the nightmare of BYU fans takes place - the rain starts to fall in Boise. On BYU's first possession of the second half, katoa fumbles the ball and Boise recovers. They drive the 32 yards between them and the endzone to cut the lead to 3. On the next drive, Brooks takes a carry and also fumbles the ball after a 5 yard gain.

BYU fans cannot believe their eyes, its 2021 all over again. On Boise's drive after the second turnover the only muster a FG, and the score is 13-13 with the rain starting to fall even harder. They kick it off, and McChesney brings it out of the endzone. The nightmare continues for BYU fans, who watch McChesney run straight into a pack of Broncos. He somehow slides through a few arm tackles before evading up the sideline with a few blocks in front. 30, 20, 10, touchdown! Both teams struggled to move the ball the rest of the the game, and BYU ices it late with a Field Goal to win 23-13.
