I’ve watched probably 95 percent of the games steph has played as a pro.

Honestly, it’s not close. Steph is a way better three point shooter. The level of difficulty of Steph’s shots is many levels above what bird shot.

He’s defended in ways that didn’t even exist when bird was a player. Was Bird ever trapped at half court? Was he blitzed every time he had the ball above the arc? Did teams employ a box and one to defend him? LLP The answer to all three is no, and if you disagree show me the video that prove otherwise.

Steph also shot threes at a way higher volume than bird and that is a huge factor in the percentages.

People want to believe that the 80’s and 90’s were so physical compared to now. that’s just not true anywhere more than 10 ft from the rim. Offenses face way more pressure from defenses beyond the nail. In fact 80’s defenses rarely even defended the ball past the arc. They essentially dared the other team to shoot.
