Unless you insist pretty heartily about it. Maybe there's a quality difference? You're right, it looks like the repair is easy. But the part is the major portion of what you were quoted, not the labor. I don't know where you live, but the going rate in Salt Lake is around $165/flat rate hour these days so with tax, can see where they came up with $500.
