Buy the $30 part and DIY
Every repair shop is backed up. It’s simple supply/demand.
They can charge those rates because they can get those rates.
And if you don’t want to DIY, find a shade tree mechanic and leave it to fate.
There is a difference between OEM parts and cheap foreign parts. The difference is in materials and quality specs.
And if the part fails for this critical component, you’ll have an idea why.
This meltdown has been amusing for such an easy fix, but I digress.

Hmm. That part lists for $306 from the dealer. Yes there are cheaper parts out there, but they can't/won't sell them
