You are making a good argument for separate divisions and a bad one to exlude
Teams that are supposedly in the same division.
As it stands, as you put it, if you’re all in the same division, you should have the same access. Again, it seems like you’re arguing for separate divisions, which I am also OK with. But as long as everyone’s in the same division, everyone should have the same objective standard for the playoff.
Name a better objective standard than conference champion.
