Boise St could only capitalize on their success with recruiting, to a certain point…the best players would want to go to a school that had better access to bowl games or a playoff. Gonzaga can say “hey our conference is small but we will be the post season if we win our conference”. Boise St couldn’t make that argument to a recruit
