Home school only works if you really do it. It can't just be TV. It can't just be workbooks. If you have multiple kids, you can't just teach them all the same thing. You can't just give them Legos/Lincoln Logs/Tinker Toys, and expect that to be enough. It would take a lot of planning and discipline to do it correctly. I taught school for over a decade and had many students who came from a home school environment. It was a mixed bag. I had a student last year who could barely write a three sentence paragraph. I could see him mom hadn't done much - I assumed she went the TV/Lego route.
